Trinidad and Tobago documents can be legalized for use abroad with an Apostille Stamp from the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs when destined for other signatory countries without additional certification by the destination country.

When Trinidad Tobago documents are required for non-apostille countries, they need to be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and then attested by the accredited embassy of the destination country (Qatar embassy in Caracas, UAE embassy in Havana).

• Because Trinidad & Tobago is a member of the Apostille Convention, Trinidad Tobago documents can be legalized by means of an Apostille Stamp when being submitted to countries that are also members of the Hague Apostille Convention

Trinidad and Tobago degree certificates required for submission to Qatari authorities must be certified by the Ministry of Education, legalized by the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and then attested by the Qatari embassy in Caracas.

Trinidad and Tobago degree certificates required for submission to the authorities of the United Arab Emirates must be certified by the Ministry of Education, legalized by the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and then attested by the UAE embassy in Havana.

Trinidad and Tobago degree certificates required for submission to Saudi authorities must be certified by the Ministry of Education and then authenticated with an Apostille Stamp by the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs. Since Saudi Arabia joined the Apostille Convention, attestation by the Saudi Embassy is no longer required.

Trinidad and Tobago degree certificates required for submission to Chinese authorities must be certified by the Ministry of Education and then authenticated with an Apostille Stamp by the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs. Since China joined the Apostille Convention, attestation by the Chinese Embassy is no longer required.

Trinidad and Tobago university degree diplomas and transcripts can be authenticated with an Apostille Stamp from the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs. Academic certificates require prior certificate by the Ministry of Education.
