Yes - Israel is a member of the Apostille Convention.

Israeli documents can be legalized for use abroad with an Apostille Stamp when destined for other signatory countries without additional certification by the destination country.

When Israeli documents are required for non-apostille countries, they need additional authentication by the embassy of the destination country.

Israel Apostille Stamps from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can be obtained for official documents including:

• Isreali birth, death and marriage certificates
• Certificates of Good Character (criminal record certificate)
• University diplomas and transcripts
• Certificates of Status (good standing) issued to Israeli companies and corporations
• Other documents, including powers of attorney, notarised by an Israeli notary

Document legalization (or attestation) is a procedure which authenticates a public Israeli document so that it can be submitted in another country for official or legal purposes - for example, if you need to submit an Israeli birth certificate to the authority or embassy of another country, it will often need to be legalized.

Legalizing a document in Israel certifies the authenticity of the signature appearing on the document as that of an authorized public official in Israel and confirms the capacity of that official.

• Because Israel is a member of the Apostille Convention, Israeli documents can be legalized by means of an Apostille Stamp when being submitted to countries that are also members of the Hague Apostille Convention
• If an Israeli document is required for a country that is not a member of the Apostille Convention, it will need to be legalized both by Israeli authorities and by the embassy of the recipient country (embassy in Israel or non-resident embassy accredited to Israel).

Israeli birth and death certificates can be obtained online or by post. Marriage certificates can be obtained from the local marriage bureau in Israel. To identify the competent marriage bureau, a request can be submitted online.

A status certificate (certificate of good standing) is an official certificate from the Companies Unit attesting to the legal status of the company (active, in liquidation, liquidated or deleted). The Certificate can be ordered online through the Government online system.

Israel Police Certificates (Certificates of Good Character) can be obtained online (Israeli nationals only), from a police station in Israel or Isreali embassy

The certificate is not given personally by the Israel Police to the requesting individual, but sent to the consulate/foreign diplomatic mission that is making the request. Please Contact us for assistance with submitting an application for a Certificate of Good Character in Israel.

Israeli university degree certificates required for submission to authorities in the United Arab Emirates can be attested at the UAE embassy in Tel Aviv. Before submission to the embassy, diplomas must be certified by the Israeli Ministry of Education and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Writs of Inheritance from the Registrar for Matters of Inheritance must have the authorized signature of an official from the Registrar for Matters of Inheritance in the area of residence where the writ was signed. Writs of Inheritance from the Judicial Courts must have the signature of the Chief Secretary of the Judicial Court where the writ was signed. In both cases, the original document is required and can be authenticated with an Apostille Stamp from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
